A class for MBSR alumni and others who are looking for a way to energize and inspire their meditation practice. Each class will include a period of formal practice and mindful movement and discussion on how practice can be integrated into specific areas of our lives and how our lives provide so many opportunities for practice.


REGULAR ON-LINE SITTING GROUP

Sunday evenings, 7pm EST via Zoom

These weekly on-line sessions are offered to support your practice. Each week I will guide a meditation for 25 minutes, give a short talk, have time for q/a and close with another sit. We will use the zoom platform which is dependable and easy to use. his weekly sit will be offered on the basis of generosity and there is no registration fee.

To join simply go to zoom.us, click on Join Meeting (upper right side) and when it asks for the meeting ID use 718 360 3141 from there just follow the instructions. The zoom app should automatically install but this only takes a few seconds. Please go to zoom.us in advance just to make sure you are clear on how it works. Please feel free to email me with any questions.

Generosity itself is a practice. I will offer the teaching freely, and give you the opportunity to support my practice as a teacher.

Jon  leads workshops, seminars and courses on mindfulness in the workplace for both non- and for-profit organizations. Jon Aaron trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, which has granted him certification as an MBSR teacher. In 2018 he was certified as an MBSR Teacher Trainer. He has taught over 70 cycles of the seminal curriculum, as well as numerous courses for alumni of the program. He is a co-founding member of New York Mindfulness Meditation Collaborative.

Jon is a teacher at the New York Insight Meditation Center, as well as the guiding teacher of the Makom Meditation Havurah program at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan. He is also Senior Trainer and Consultant with The Potential Project, a leading global organization specialized in bringing mindfulness to the workplace. 

He enjoys teaching and sharing the practice with people in a multitude of settings. Over the years, Jon has given workshops and classes for organizations as diverse as ABC in the Broadcast Operations Division, the Cable Entertainment Group at NBC Universal, the New York Open Center, Physicians Reciprocal Insurance Cooperation, the NYU Medical School, the Department of Psychology at Einstein College of Medicine, the Beth Israel Medical Center, the 92nd St Y, the teacher training program of Yoga Sutra where he was part of the faculty, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where he led a group for seven years.

Jon studied for 8 years with Matthew Flickstein in the Theravada and non-dual traditions.  He continues his studies now with Thanissara and  Kittisaro Weinberg.  He has also completed the Integrated Study and Practice Program at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies, as well as the Foundations in Buddhist Contemplative Care program with the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care. He is currently training in Somatic ExperiencingTM.
