FOR MBSR ALUMNI AND ALL…. The Interpersonal Mindfulness Program 8 Monday Evenings from 6:30 pm - 9 pm October 19th - December 7th Daylong Class: (a required part of the program) Sunday November 15th from 9:30 am - 5 pm In these unprecedented times, we are spending more and more time communicating on screens - on FaceTime or in Zoom: in meetings, retreats, in gatherings with friends and family. - Is it possible that human relationships are one of the best fields for cultivating mindfulness? - Is it possible that we can bring mindfulness to all our interpersonal communications - even those that are virtual? - And as we move between sheltering in place and negotiating our quarantine pods - whether with friends, family, or co-workers - can practice help us cultivate the skills that can support us staying present within these challenging conversations? The Interpersonal Mindfulness Program was developed jointly by Florence Meleo-Meyer while at the Center for Mindfulness (now at the Mindfulness Center at Brown University), Phyllis Hicks, of Metta Programs, and Gregory Kramer, who developed the Insight Dialogue practice upon which the course is based. The program was specifically designed for graduates of MBSR programs but is suitable for anyone with a mindfulness practice who has experience or is willing to experience stepping out of silent practice and applying mindfulness in human interaction. Note: The bulk of the class time will be spent reflecting and practicing in dyads (pairs) in breakout rooms, using the Insight Dialogue Guidelines Prerequisite: A Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) class or prior meditation experience that includes some relational practice - i.e. a willingness to bring mindfulness out of silent formal practice into shared investigation of the human experience. Cost: Choose your own rate. Benefactor: $600 Regular price: $450 Financially challenged? $250, or contact me. To secure your spot, email Elaine to receive payment information.
